For children in need we had a cake sale in our classroom. We had a wonderful afternoon buying and selling cakes! Everyone enjoyed eating one of their scrumptious cakes!
We have been very busy the past few weeks practising for our fabulous nativity called Starlight! We are now down to our last few rehearsals and we look forward to sharing our production with you!
On Friday, the children in Oak had their class assembly and what a fantastic assembly it was! The assembly was based on our Christian value thankfulness. The children acted out a lovely story called ‘Bear Says Thanks’ which was fantastic! They also talked about remembrance day and shared some lovely poppy wreathes they had made in class earlier in the week.
Well done Oak Class, you should feel very proud of yourselves. An excellent effort from all!
We are very busy at the moment working on our class assembly which we shall be performing this week! We have also started work on the … NATIVITY!
We have been learning all about the Hindu festival of Diwali this week. On Tuesday we had a scrumptious Diwali dinner – yum! We have listened to the story of Rama and Sita and have thought about why Diwali is special to Hindus. We were able to look at different objects that are related to Diwali such as diva lamps, sari’s and lots of beautiful rangoli patterns! We even made our own lanterns for golden time! Take a look at our work!
This half term we have started our brand new topic called ‘A Toy Story!’ We started the topic by watching a small clip from the original Toy Story film which everyone enjoyed thoroughly! We then thought about our favourite toy – trickier than it sounds when there are so many wonderful toys to choose from!
We wrote some wonderful things about our favourite toy and draw a picture to go with it using our sketching skills! Take a look a small section of work on our topic display.
