We are equally committed to meeting the needs of the Able Child and endeavour to meet the needs of these children. The schools More Able co-ordinator, maintains a record of children who have been identified as able and their progress is monitored carefully to ensure their needs are being met. A variety of approaches can be taken to ensure these pupils are equally challenged and progress at a similar rate to their class colleagues. Recent changes in the delivery of Maths at primary level has meant that, as a whole, all pupils follow the same curriculum in each class, with the content designed to match the needs of the pupil. More Able pupils at Maths will be encouraged to deepen and broaden their understanding of concepts, in order to attain a true mastery of those concepts.
