Science: Bugs 'n' That

Friday morning we had a chance to do something a little special. So we had a look at one aspect of Science we do in the spring, branching databases, and an often over looked part of Biology - detailed, accurate drawing.

So, with many a shudder and squeal, we got out our fantastic selection of preserved arthropods and had a morning of creating branching databases to classify our insects, writing detailed descriptions of them, and to draw (as accurately as we could) how they look. In this way we were treading in the footsteps of generations of Naturalists including Charles Darwin.
