Science & D&T

This week (beginning 23rd January 2017) Rowan Class children were set the challenge of designing and building a parachute to carry an egg safely down to the ground. The children were using what they had learnt so far about forces and constructing using different materials and joins. Many of the designs proved to be in need of some improvements as we tested them out (Splat) in the playground (Mrs Allen up a stepladder for the drop!), however we did have some successful parachutes too :) All of the children were rightly proud of their efforts and enjoyed the challenge immensely. Afterwards, we wrote up our evaluations and reflected on the designs that we had built. Well done!
