Our Visit to Sharnford Methodist Chapel
Today we were invited to Sharnford Methodist Chapel to view the ‘Knitted Bible Stories’. The children looked closely at each of the knitted stories and listened to the stories related to them. We particularly enjoyed looking at the stories related to Easter, which we are currently learning about.
We then listened to the story of the ‘Lost Sheep’, read by Mrs Haddon finished the afternoon off by making our own lost sheep.
The children designed a town and thought about what amenities were needed. They discussed what the physical features were and what were man made. Together the class then made a model town. Excellent team work!
Today we visited a Hindu temple and a Church. We got to observe worship at the temple and experience their surroundings. We were extremely lucky because a Bishop was also there! We then visited the Church of the Martyrs and we got to do some fun activities.
PE on a Thursday has been brilliant for the Year 2's. They designed and sequenced their own skipping routine. Well done Year 2.
What a fantastic start to the term Hazel Class have had! We have made 101 (yes, 101) dalmatians. Also we have looked at Peter and the Wolf and used boomwackers to discuss rhythm.
