On Tuesday 13th September Years 1 - 6 all visited our local library in Sapcote.
For us this was an important trip for a number of reasons. It gave us time to reflect on the important services that local libraries provide for us, and what we would miss if they were no longer there. We compared them to other services, like the internet, and decided that having as many opportunities as possible to access the written word was an important part of our growth.
The visit also tied neatly into our Roald Dahl week, and we were very fortunate to have local author, Mrs Newton, read excerpts from Dahl's books to us, and lead us in discussions about his writing. The pupils really enjoyed the experience and had lots of fantastic questions.
We would like to thank Mrs Newton and the staff at Sapcote library for their support.
